Lady Gaga just won the Super Bowl: here’s why.

After countless hours of rigorous preparation and training Lady Gaga and her dancers were prepared (to say the least) to take the stadium’s stage as Super Bowl 51’s halftime show.

Complete with literal leaps and bounds Gaga captured her career through a compilation of her historically hottest hits, such as, “Bad Romance,” “Born This Way,” “Telephone,” and her iconic “Just Dance.”

While Gaga’s outrageous theatrics and sheer talent stole the show, all aspects of the performance deserve due credit, including: the dancers, all those lights, and of course, the wardrobe.

From spiked jackets to the most glamorous rendition of a football jersey we’ve ever seen, hit the stage. Gaga and her troop completed countless costume changes throughout their trip around the stage. Embracing her roots, Gaga displayed signature dance moves only her Little Monsters would be able to recognize.

The 13 minute performance was nonstop from start to finish- with the exception of a brief ballad from Gaga’s latest album Joanne after which she gave a small shout out to both of her parents in a sweet, yet subtle way.

Thankfully for those of us who weren’t fortunate enough to score sideline seats, the television coverage of the show allowed for an up close and personal point of view, giving us an opportunity to see the characters Gaga and her dancers committed to throughout the show. Completely engaged, arguably one of the most entertaining aspects of the performance was the entertainer’s ability to capture and transition from the mildly humorous faux phone call introducing “Telephone” to her signature “Born This Way” wild honesty.

With the increasingly talented performances of Super Bowl’s past, Gaga was up against a tough standard, yet, as always was not shy to deliver a proper show. Having already, literally, fallen from the sky, Gaga showed Americans an upbeat- keytar, roof jump, mic drop filled performance.
